Rules



  1. This competition and exhibition is open for everyone.
  2. Theme: One Nation - One Festival - Many celebrations of Makar Sankranti.
  3. Makar Sankranti is one of the biggest festivals of India, celebrated in the month of January.
    Makar Sankranti holds different historical importance and is celebrated with different names in different states of India. Let's celebrate and create a visual photo story or feature documenting the importance and showing how this festival is celebrated at your place.
  4. Entry Fee - FREE
  5. Last date of Submission: 28th January of 2024.
  6. Judging: 04th February of 2024.
  7. Results: 09th February of 2024.
  8. Awards: Three Telangana Photography Akademi Medals and Five special mention awards.
  9. Selected exhibits will be exhibited at different places in association with our camera clubs..
  10. Final Awards presentation and exhibition: During Akademi’s Annual day celebrations.
  11. All images must be the original work of the artist. Entrants should provide a RAW file if required for Judging.
  12. Participants should submit a visual photo story or feature or essay with minimum 10 images and maximum 12 images along with a short description.
  13. We want you to show us your skills with visual storytelling by photographing the theme and to tell a story in a portfolio that includes 10 to 12 images. Think of this as a story in pictures and a way to convey something about the character of the theme. Photos can be taken in sequence or in different moments as long as they are obviously connected with each other.
  14. Contact sheet showing the image sequence should be submitted.
  15. All entries must be submitted online only
  16. Photos must be in JPG file format, sRGB color profile.
  17. The file size of the individual image, if possible, should not exceed 2 MB. The dimensions of photos must not exceed 1920 pixels and have 72 dpi resolution.
  18. The evaluation of the photos will be made by jurors in Full HD screens.
  19. File Name: Sequence no._member name.jpg (this format has to be followed)
  20. After judging, on request members should submit high resolution print ready TIFF files to Akademi for exhibition and printing purposes and the files will be deleted after printing for exhibition.
  21. Works entirely created by computer, photomontages, photos with signatures or watermarks are not allowed.
  22. Watermarks or any such identification marks including camera generated date/time are not acceptable and No title or identification of the entrant shall not be visible anywhere on the face of an image.
  23. Telangana Photography Akademi reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary. For example, if circumstances arise outside of our control.
Jury Rules
Entries will be evaluated by a nominated Jury panel. The judging is anonymous. Judges are not aware of participant’s names or details. The juror will assess the images for visual impact, composition, originality, technique, and creativity and the ability to communicate a message, a feeling, or an emotion. Jury decision will be final.

Notification
All participants will receive a report card via e-mail with entry scores. All results will also be published on the website of the competition.

Author Copyright
Each participant owns the copyright of the submitted images. The participant certifies the work as his or her own.The entrant allows the contest organizers to use, free of charge, the entered images for promotional purposes related to the photo contest, as a catalogue, calendar, video and website, unless specifically stated otherwise on the registration form by the participant.

Publication Of Images
Each participant is personally responsible for the images submitted to the contest and what has been declared on the entry form. The participant also authorizes the publication and the images, in a different size if necessary, exclusively for matters related to the exhibition, and for teaching, cultural, or non-profit purposes.
